Karen’s jewels are differentiated by surface texture of granulation balls and twisted wire, all in fine metals (gold and silver). Not all my collaborated pieces have enamels -Karen does other metalsmithing techniques, such as Kuem Boo, and sometimes she makes metal catches for my sculptural necklaces and bracelets – sometimes I make pearl & beaded chains to go with Karen’s metal designs. But whatever the combination, you will find that The Mermaid’s Jewelz are unique, even when they are not a collaborative effort. |
